Stanthorpe is known for being quite cool year round, with highs of 28° and lows of 16° in spring and summer, and highs of 15° to 18° degrees and lows of below 1° in winter. When packing to stay at Big Fella Wines, bring plenty of warm clothing for winter and your normal summer clothing in the warmer months, with a few pants and jumpers, just in case.

Does it snow in Stanthorpe?

Yes, it does snow in Stanthorpe! Due to being quite elevated, we do receive light snow most years during winter.

When is the best time to visit Stanthorpe?

It depends if you’re looking for a winter escape or a not-boiling-hot summer getaway. In the winter months, you may see snow, which is always magical and not something Queenslanders are used to. While in summer, you still get the warmer, cloudless days, but the air is quite dry and not as humid as other areas of the state.
